LIBRARY SERVICES
General Guidelines:
1. Library Services
– Only enrolled students and active faculty and staff are allowed to visit the library
– Entry requirements:
a. UP ID or form 5
b. CHE Library Card
c. Employee ID
Note: Non-UP researchers are accomodated every MONDAY only.

2. Borrowing Privileges
– Undergraduate students (Max of 5 circulation books for 2 weeks and 2 reserve books for overnight).
– Graduate students (Max of 10 circulation books for 2 weeks and 2 reserve books for overnight).
– Active faculty (Max of 10 circulation books for 1 month and 2 reserve books for overnight).
– Reps and Administrative Staff (Max of 10 circulation books for two weeks and 2 reserve books for overnight)
– Overdue Fines:
P5.00/day/book (Circulation books)
P50.00/day/book(Reserve books)
3. Resource on Demand (ROD)
– Request of e-copy selected pages of chapters from a copyrighted book in the collection shall not exceed 10% of the total
pages excluding preliminary pages or equivalent to 2-3 chapters.
– Request of articles from subscribes e-resources can be accessed and downloaded only by enrolled students and active faculty
and staff of the University of the Philippines using their UP mail.
– ROD requests available from other unit libraries shall be made through their respective unit library.
– Use of materials requested through ROD is subject to provisions of the intellectual property code of the Philippines and the
Intellectual property policy of the UP system.
Borrowing of Books
How to borrow books:
1. Search the availability and locations of books using the TUKLAS discovery services.
2. Fill out the “Book request form/s” available in the OPAC station then hand the Book request form to the library personnel assigned to the circulation desk for paging
Note:
– Checking out and checking in of books may be performed using the RFID or at the circulation desk.
– “Room-use only book/s” can be borrowed for photocopying, good for 1-2 hours only.
Resource on Demand (ROD)
How to request for ROD
1. Search the availability and locations of books using the TUKLAS discovery services.
2. Send a requests via the CHE Library email chelib.upd@up.edu.ph by providing the following information:
– Title
– Author
– Call Number
– Page / Chapter for scanning
Note:
– Request of e-copy of selected pages or chapters from a copyrighted book in the collection shall not exceed 10% of the total pages excluding preliminary pages or equivalent 2-3 chapters.

PC / Internet Use
Computer Use:
1. Go to Cyber Nook.
2. Ask for assistance from a library staff
3. Log in via the form.
Printing & Scanning Service
Steps:
1. Printing is self serivce or you Email your file/s to chelibrequests@gmail.com and ask for assistance
2. After printing, fill out form for our record purposes.
Fees (per page):
– Black and White – 5 pesos
– Minimal colored page- 10 pesos
– Full colored page- 20 pesos
Note:
Scanning is maximum of 10 pages
Request Library Card
The CHE Library ID Card will serve as your entry requirement in the library, and also as your ID for borrowing and returning books starting on September 12, 2023 (AY 2023-2024).
